The Whiting polybutene plant is located in Whiting, Indiana, approximately 35 miles southeast of Chicago, Illinois. The 194 million pound (88,000 tons) per year unit began operation in 1983, employs nearly 50 people and operates around the clock, 365 days of the year.

Polybutenes manufactured at the Whiting plant are used to enhance and improve the performance properties of a wide variety of end products, including crank case lubricants and fuel additives, industrial lubricants, adhesives and sealants, cable filling compounds and a diverse range of other industrial applications.
