Health, safety and environmental
INEOS’ Köln operations have set the goal of constantly improving health, safety and environmental protection. As a member of the German Chemical Manufacturers' Association (VCI), Köln has committed itself to observing the organization's environmental guidelines and has signed the Responsible Care initiative of the chemical industry. Within the context of this commitment, we:
- promote a sense of responsibility for the environment and safety among our employees and customers
- plan our facilities in accordance with recognised safety standards and assess the environmental impact
- inspect the safety equipment in our facilities at regular intervals and as required, monitor emissions, inspect the workplaces of employees and screen their health
- maintain the emergency preparedness of our staff by regular drills and train our employees in the appropriate behavior
- conduct an open dialogue about our activities with the public and residents near our site
- only work with selected transport companies in delivering our products to our customers and regularly monitor their safety standards
- inform and advise our customers on the environmental, health and safety aspects of using and disposing of our products
- consent to inspections by independent experts
