Diisobutylene HP
Diisobutylene HP is a high purity C8 isoolefin grade resulting from a pre-treatment of the isobutylene feedstock. Typically, the 2,4,4-trimethylpentene-1/2 content is 95% (split approximately 77/18). About 5% are other C8 isometric olefins.
Diisobutylene HP is an intermediate for a range of chemical products which require a high proportion of the more reactive 2,4,4-trimethylpentene-1/2 isomers to produce the required product quality. Examples include chain stoppers for polycarbonate resins, UV stabilisers and rubber chemicals.
