Product Stewardship

INEOS Oligomers product stewardship encompasses a broad spectrum of services to customers, stakeholders and others who handle our products. A range of specialists is available to provide expert advice on product SHE issues.

Our Product Regulatory Compliance staff is available for discussions on issues related to compliance with industrial chemical control regulations and regulations pertaining to food contact, cosmetic and agricultural uses. With our extensive experience in these areas, we realize that the regulatory compliance requirements are important and we can advise customers on specific issues relating to the use of our products.

Polybutenes (PIB)

Indopol® polybutenes are versatile polymers; they have a combination of properties that makes them suited and used for a wide range of different applications. Indopol® polybutenes are produced entirely by a petrochemical process, with all feedstocks coming from oil refinery streams.  No vegetable material, animal fats, oils, milk products or other animal products are used as components of, or in the manufacture of these products. Indopol® polybutene are additive and solvent free. Indopol® polybutenes have been certified by the National Sanitary Foundation with listing in the whitebook as H1 incidental food contact. Indopol® polybutenes manufactured in the United States are Kosher Certified. A detailed listing of Global Regulations has been compiled in the Indopol® polybutene Regulatory Bulletin.

Panalane® polybutenes are made via hydrogenation of Indopol® polybutenes, and are used to formulate many personal care products. Panalane® polybutene products meet a wide range of global regulations, a complete list can be found in the Panalane® polybutene Regulatory Bulletin.

Durasyn Polyalphaolefins

Durasyn® Polyalphaolefins are produced entirely by a petrochemical process, with all feedstocks coming from oil refinery streams.  No vegetable material, animal fats, oils, milk products or other animal products are used as components of, or in the manufacture of these products. The physical and chemical properties of PAOs are ideal to meet the demanding requirements of formulations for high quality synthetic lubricants. Durasyn® Polyalphaolefins are additive and solvent free. Durasyn® Polyalphaolefins have been certified by the National Sanitary Foundation with listing in the whitebook as H1 incidental food contact.  A detailed listing of Global Regulations has been compiled in the Durasyn® Polyalphaolefins Regulatory Bulletin. INEOS Oligomers also offers data regarding the Environmental fate of its Durasyn® Polyalphaolefins, this data is available to our customers in the Durasyn Environmental Data Bulletin.

Silkflo Polydecenes

INEOS Oligomers offers the Silkflo™ product range of polydecenes specifically produced and sold for use in personal care and cosmetic products. Silkflo cosmetic fluids are clear, bright, high purity hydrocarbon liquids with a unique, non oily feel that sets them apart from mineral oils and similar products. Information regarding compliance with current regulations has been included in the current Regulatory Bulletin. INEOS Oligomers also offers data regarding the Environmental fate of its Silkflo polydecenes, this data is available to our customers in the Silkflo Environmental Data Bulletin.

Material Safety Data Sheets

Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs /SDSs) are available for all INEOS Oligomers’ products and describe the health, safety and environmental characteristics of these products as well as advice on handling precautions and emergency procedures. MSDSs should be consulted and fully understood before handling, storage or use of Oligomers products. MSDS/SDS may be obtained by visiting the MSDS website, or to request a MSDS/SDS for a specific product, send an e-mail.
