INEOS Oligomers’ Feluy plant, located just south of Brussels in Belgium, is the largest Western European producer of linear alpha olefins (LAOs) and the largest European producer of polyalphaolefins (PAOs). The site is certified ISO 14000.
To meet the requirements of the industry, production of LAOs increased during the second quarter of 1999 by 50 percent. This increase in production pushed capacity of 300,000 metric tons. Durasyn polyalphaolefins are produced using decene supplied from the LAO plant.
LAOs are intermediate chemicals used in the manufacture of a number of products including polyethylene, plasticizers, detergents, and petroleum additives.
PAOs are used primarily as basestocks in the formulation of synthetic lubricants for automotive and industrial applications. The many applications in which PAOs are used, include passenger car motor oils, heavy duty diesel oils, gear oils, turbine oils and metalworking fluids. Our products
